October 27, 1973 Panther Valley's defense forces seven turnovers while the combinatin of Gary Evans-to-Frank Horvath hooks up two times for touchdowns in a 41-0 victory over Mahanoy Area. Horvath catches scoring tosses of nine and seven yards from Horvath. The Panthers, coached by Caz Kosciolek, also receive a big defensive game from Gene Lore, who intercepts two passes and blocks a punt that Herbie Whildin returns for a TD. Greg Whitehead, who adds five PATs, Benny Arthur and Lore all add scoring runs while John Yanchura registers four sacks.
