Line-up set for Tamaqua's Halloween parade
The line-up has been announced for the 43rd Annual Tamaqua Halloween Parade.
The parade is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. The rain date is Wednesday, Oct. 28.
The event is sponsored by the Tamaqua Lions Club, with administrative assistance from the Tamaqua Area Chamber of Commerce. The Tamaqua Wireless Association assists with communications for the parade. Traffic control is provided by the Tamaqua Fire Police.
State Senator David Argall (R-29) will serve as grand marshal for this year's parade,
Mauch Chunk Trust Company is the major sponsor for the parade.
This year's parade will have four divisions. Participants should pay attention to their corresponding division and entry number as listed below.
The parade will begin at the east end of the borough, with motorized vehicles gathering in the former Jamesway plaza lot on Route 209 and marchers on the former Maff Motors lot. The Tamaqua Raider Band and Tamaqua Area Youth Soccer Association will gather on the M&M Storage lot. Participants should be in place by 6:45 p.m.
The parade commences west on Broad Street past St. Jerome's Church parking lot at W. Broad and Swatara Streets, where it will disperse in the following block.
Prizes will be awarded for Best of Show as well as top marching units and motorized vehicles/floats.
