Mobile Edge named one of top five retailers in its field
Mobile Edge, a locally owned retailer at 52 Blakeslee Blvd., Lehighton was recognized as one of the top five mobile electronics retailers in the nation.
This award was presented by Mobile Electronics magazine at the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) show in Las Vegas on Nov 4. In the words of Mobile Electronics Magazine, this award is presented to the top five "retailers nationwide for their expertise, customer service, and representation of the industry." Mobile Edge is only the second mobile electronics retailer in PA to win this award. This award is essentially the "Oscar" of the Mobile Electronics industry.
Mobile Edge was founded in 1994 by Mitchell Schaffer, a lifelong resident of the area. Throughout the years, the store has expanded from offering mainly car stereos and speakers to a full compliment of aftermarket electronics ranging from car audio and video to window tinting, remote car starters, bluetooth handsfree kits and iPod interfaces. Several years ago, a sister company, Cutting Edge Home Entertainment, was added to offer custom home theater and whole house audio distribution.
This is not the first major award that Mobile Edge has won. In 1998, Orion Car Audio presented Mobile Edge the Xtreme dealer award for marketing their products in a professional and exciting manner. In 2003, Mobile Edge was awarded the retailer of the year award from Eclipse Car Audio based on similar criteria.
