Carbon Democrats have 5,421 more registered voters than GOP
The Democratic Party in Carbon County has continued maintain a solid plurality over the Republican Party in terms of voter registration totals.
With the close of the recent registration period in time for the Nov. 3 General Election, statistics show the Democrats continue to hold a 5,000-plus-registration edge over the GOP. When Elections Director Timothy Benyo certified the eligible voting list to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Department of State, Bureau of Elections, it showed 19,404 Democrats, or 51 percent of the registration total of 38,014, are eligible to vote next month.
That number compares to 13,983 Republicans (36.8 percent), giving the Democrats a voter edge of 5,421. The remainder of the voters are either non-party-affiliated or registered to numerous other parties," such as Independent, Constitution, Reformed, Patriot and Green.
