Fern Ridge PSP report on crashes
State police at Fern Ridge reported on several crashes investigated by troopers in recent days.
Troopers said a crash occurred about 4:19 p.m. on Nov. 12 along Neola Road at the intersection wtih Neola Church Road, in Jackson Township, Monroe County. Troopers said William D. Pyke, 20, of High Bridge, N.J., was northbound while Michael C. Slack, 56, of East Stroudsburg, was eastbound on Neola Church Road. Troopers said Slack stopped for a stop sign and pulled into the intersection. Troopers said Pyke failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and the front of his Honda Civic hit the passenger side door of Slack's Freightliner tractor.
Pyke sustained a moderate injury and Slack a minor one. Troopers cited Pyke for stop sign violation.
A crash was reported on Nov. 10 about 8:20 a.m. along Interstate 80 in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Bryan R. Cirelli, 37, of Montvalle, N.J., was driving a1998 Dodge Durango westbound when a deer entered the road in front of him. The Durango struck the deer. Cirelli was not injured.
A one vehicle crash occurred about 7:15 .m. on Nov. 11 along Firehouse Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Francis M. Fogge Jr., 55, of Saylorsburg, was westbound in a 2005 Dodge Stratus when he failed to stop at the intersection with Marion Lane. His vehicle crossed the intersection and off the road and struck a stump with the front end. Upon impact the vehicle continued west and came to rest on top of a large rock.
Troopers said Fogge then fled the scene. Fogge sustained a minor injury in the crash and was charged with careless driving.
A one vehicle crash occurred about 2:14 p.m on Saturday, Nov. 14, along White Church Road, in Chestnuthill Township. Troopers said Zulfecar A. McDoom, 47, of Effort, was driving eastbound and a deer entered the road. He attempted to avoid hitting the deer with his car going onto the berm and hitting a utility pole.
McDoom was not injured.
On Sunday, Nov. 15, about 1 p.m. James Saeger, of Gilbert, was driving southbound on Gilbert Road near Country Glenn Road, in Chestnuthill Township, when the vehicle went onto the berm. The car then went across the center line and the northbound lane and onto the opposite berm where it struck a tree.
Saeger was not injured.
