Monroe driver facing DUI charge

A Monroe County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) following an incident that occurred about 2:55 a.m. along Meixell Valley Road, in the area of Highpoint Drive, in Ross Township.

State police at Lehighton said Barry William Stenger, of Effort, was stopped after his vehicle was observed crossing the double lines as another vehicle was approaching.

He was taken to the barracks where he submitted to a breath test. Charges of DUI, careless driving and driving on roadways laned for traffic are pending, troopers added.
