Carbon man jailed in knife incident

A Carbon County man was jailed this week after he allegedly threw a knife at state troopers.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded to 270 Koch Rd., in Kresgeville, Towamensing Township, about 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 26, for a reported domestic incident involving Joseph Pellegrino Jr., 39, Joseph Pellegrino Sr., and Joan Pellegrino, all that address.

Troopers said when they attempted to take Joseph Pellegrino Jr. into custody for assaulting the other two members of his family the threw a knife at them.

He was charged with aggravated assault for that incident and was arraigned before duty District Judge Casimir T. Kosciolek, of Lansford, and was committed to the county prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $75,000 straight bail.
