Jim Thorpe news
The Shepherd House Food Pantry at Ebenezer E.C. Church will be open on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 9 a.m. to noon. Recipients must reside within the Jim Thorpe Area School District. The pantry is located at 441 Center Ave. in Jim Thorpe. Please call (570) 325-2855 for more information or to volunteer.
Last month the pantry supplied 1,980 meals to those in need in our community. Food donations to the bin at the Jim Thorpe Market are always greatly needed and appreciated. Perishable items can be dropped off at the church office Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until noon. Monetary donations can be dropped off or mailed.
The food pantry is grateful to state Rep. Keith McCall, his staff, and those who contributed food donations for the pantry at the annual Senior Fair in Jim Thorpe. These generous donations help supply food to families in the community who are financially unable to purchase nutritious food themselves.
The Shepherd House Food Pantry at Ebenezer E.C. Church is also appreciative of the Mauch Chunk Trust Company and those who contributed food donations during its food drive. The pantry distributes a three-day supply of food the second Saturday of every month. Please call (570) 325-2855 for more information.
