A Monroe County teen was jailed this week for the unauthorized use of his mother's vehicle.

State police at Lehighton said Robert Gunther Jr., 18, of 19 Chestnut St., Gilbert, Eldred Township, took the vehicle of Gina Gunther, 47, same address, twice without her permission. The incidents occurred on Oct. 16-19 and Oct. 25-26. He was arrested on Monday.

Troopers said he drilled out the vehicle's ignition causing damage to the car when he took it early this week. He was located Monday and taken into custody and arraigned before a district judge. He was committed to the county prison in Snydersville after failing to post bail on charges of unauthorized use of a vehicle.
