Teen charged with assault on child

A Monroe County teen has been charged with having sexual contact with a young child.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said a 14-year-old male from Tunkhannock Township has been charged through the county juvenile probation office with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, aggravated indecent assault with a chld and indecent assault.

According to police on Saturday, Nov. 7, officers were dispatched to a township home to investigate a indecent contact report. The child, age 4, reported that the teen, who is a neighbor, had touched his private area and had him touch the suspects' private area.

An investigation revealed that the teen had indecent contact with the child on at least two occasions. On Tuesday the juvenile was taken into custody and charged, police said.
