Slatington woman killed, another injured in crash

A Slatington woman was killed and another borough resident was seriously injured in a one vehicle crash early Saturday morning. State police at Bethlehem said the accident occurred about 1:30 a.m. along Best Station Road in Washington Township.

Troopers said Amy Lynn Chamberlain, 23, was eastbound when she lost control of her car while rounding a curve near Lower Court. The car crossed the westbound lane and went onto the berm where the passenger side struck a tree.

Front seat passenger Michelle A. Pagano, 21, of 6322 River View Road, was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:28 a.m. Lehigh County Coroner's office said she died of blunt force trauma.

Chamberlain was flown by PennStar helicopter to St. Luke's Hospital, Fountain Hill. No condition report was released by the hospital.
