Historical society

At the last Eldred Township Historical Society it was reported by Helen Mackes that the asphalt shingles on the old post office in Kunkletown had been tested and there is no sign of asbestos, and volunteers to remove them will be safe.

Helen also reported that there is still a grinding wheel from the old grist mill behind Barry Greenzweig on Eldred Township property. It can be the property of the historical society if it is removed. Barry Borger has volunteered to pull it out of the stream.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 17. It will be a holiday get-together at the home of Brenda Dorshimer, president, at 6:30 p.m.

There will be no meeting in December.

Sunday, Nov. 22 will be the monthly Contemporary Service at St. Matthew's UCC in Kunkletown beginning at 9 a.m. There are Sunday School classes following at 10:30 a.m. every Sunday. Everyone is welcome to attend.
