Help is sought to find lost puppy

Coaldale police are asking that the woman who rescued an 8-month old chocolate Lab puppy that had escaped her home and wandered out onto Route 209 near Greenwood Street Thursday please call them at (570) 645-3060.

The woman had tried to call the dog's owner, Joe Zonca, but her caller ID block prevented Zonca from being able to return her call, said Police Chief Tim Delaney.

The puppy, Rusty, was wearing her collar and tags, which listed Blue Mountain Animal Clinic, New Ringgold.

The good Samaritan called the clinic and was given Zonca's phone number, Delaney said.

He asked that the woman please leave a number where she can be reached if no one is at the police station when she calls.
