Crash probed along I80

State police at Fern Ridge reported investigating a one vehicle crash along Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said Michelina Karkenny, 45, of Mt. Pocono, was driving a 2002 Mitsubishi westbound about 7:13 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12, when she lost control. The car went onto the shoulder and struck a tree.

Karkenny sustained a minor injury but damages were severe to the front of the car, troopers said.

Troopers also reported investigating a crash about 2:48 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13, along Sugar Hollow Road, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said Ankhmi A. Akhetyenmaat, 26, of Efffot, was driving a 2005 Ford Explorer southbound when he lost control and struck a tree along the berm. The Explorer bounced off the tree and traveled backwards across the road and came to rest facing north in a ditch.

Akhetyenmaat was not injured.
