Golden Agers
The Panther Valley Golden Agers will not have any meetings during the month of December. The next meeting will be Jan. 11 and at that meeting members celebrating December and January birthdays will be honored.

Christmas on Hill
The Summit Hill Recreation Commission will hold its annual Christmas-on-the-Hill festivities on Saturday, Dec. 5.
The Pennstar helicopter will be bringing Santa Claus to the Ginder Field at noon. Santa will be transported to the Heritage Center (the former St. Paul United Church of Christ) for lunch, beginning at 12:30 p.m. Photos with Santa will be available.
The Lehighton Ambulance will be assisting the commission and will also be collecting donations for Toys for Tots. Donations for the Summit Hill Food Pantry will also be accepted.
This event is free to all children under 10, but they must be accompanied by an adult.
Vote for Frank
Summit Hill native Frank Carulli is among 19 racing analysts nationwide listed on Thoroughbred Times' poll for "Best of 2009." Carulli is the racing analyst and oddsmaker for Pimlico and Laurel Park racetracks in Maryland.
To vote for the 1980 Panther Valley High School graduate, go to thoroughbredtimes.com and click on the Best of 2009 link near the top of the Web site, and complete the multiple-choice answers. Carulli appears on Question 19.
Frank is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Corky Carulli of town.
Legion meetings
American Legion Post 316, Summit Hill, has scheduled three upcoming meetings.
They will be held on Monday, Dec. 14.
The Board of Governors will meet at 7 p.m., followed by the meeting of the Post at 7:30. The Home Association meeting will be held immediately after the post meeting.
Commander W. Kevin O'Donnell will be in charge of the sessions.
SHCIO to meet
The Summit Hill Community Improvement Organization will meet Monday, Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. in the Summit Hill Borough Hall. Debra Ranck, president, will be in charge of the session.
