Car slides on road, hits parked vehicle

Two vehicles sustained what police called "disabling damages" in a mishap Sunday at 12:30 a.m. in Tower City.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Scott W. Kline II, 26, of Tower City, was driving west in a 2002 Mitsubishi Eclipse when it slid on a slick portion of the roadway, traveled outside the travel lanes and struck the driver;s side rear portion of a 1993 Mercury Sable that was parked on East Grand Avenue. After the initial impact, Kline's vehicle continued to travel along the driver's side of the Sable and traveled about 40 feet before coming to rest.

Police said both vehicles were damaged to the extent that they could not be driven from the scene.

Police said Kline will be cited for causing the accident.
