The Slaters jumped out to a 26-point halftime lead and went on to roll over the Blue Bombers, 74-25, in Colonial League play.
Matt Carey finished with 15 points for the Slaters.
The Bombers (1-3, 0-2) were led by Tyler Kravetz's eight points.
Bangor won the JV game, 40-32.

GIRLS BASKETBALL
Jim Thorpe-Tamaqua
Tamaqua built a big lead and then held off a fourth quarter comeback bid by Jim Thorpe to post a 46-36 Schuylkill League victory.
The Blue Raiders, who led by 16 points heading into the final quarter, were paced by Amy Zehner's double-double (15 points and 11 rebounds). Teammate Cassie Eroh chipped in with 11 points.
Celeste Robinson topped the Olympians (0-2, 0-1) with 14 points. Brittany Holland added 10 points.
In the JV game, Tamaqua ran away with a 47-27 win. Christine Streisel led the Blue Raiders with 13 points.

Bangor erupted for a 22-point opening quarter and never looked back en route to a 61-37 Colonial League win over Palmerton.
The Slaters' Kaitlyn McDonald finished with a game-high 20 points.
Kelsey Hay paced the Bombers with 12 points. Casey Rinfret followed right behind with 11.

Shenandoah Valley posted a 44-39 Schuylkill League victory over host Weatherly.
Caitlin Lesko led the Wreckers with 13 points, Melanie Clabia also hit double digits with 10.
Molly Carduff paced Shenandoah with 13 points.
In the JV game, Weatherly picked up a 47-31 win. The Wreckers were led by Tracy Galada and Alicia Panzarella, who scored 13 and 11 points respectively.

Joe Marcin led the Raiders with eight points.

Tamaqua defeated Shenandoah, 29-23.
The Raiders' Mike Weinert led all scorers with 12 points. Adam Bates scored the last two field goals of the game to seal the win.
7TH GRADE
Tamaqua-St. Clair
Tamaqua won its season opener over St. Clair, 54-8.
Leading the way for the Raiders was the trio of Brett Kosciolek, Connor Hartung, and Zachary Wargula with 10 points each.
