Animal cruelty alleged in report

Several citations have been given by the Summit Hill Police Department, including one for animal cruelty.

Charged with cruelty to an animal was Christina Houser, 33, of 264 W. Ludlow St.

Police said the charge arises from an incident on Nov. 22 during which the department received a complaint of a stray dog. After they picked up the dog, they returned the dog to the owner, who is Houser. Police said the dog needed medical treatment. Houser was aware of the dog's health problems and failed to get the dog the medical care it needed, according to police. As a result, the citation was issued.

Other incidents investigated by police are:

A 15-year-old Summit Hill male was charged with indecent assault and harassment. Police allege the youth inappropriately touched a 13-year-old female. The incident happened in August. The citation was filed with the juvenile probation office, said police.

Two individuals were cited for as a result of a disturbance at 8 p.m. on Nov. 1 in the vicinity of West Ludlow Street.

According to police, two individuals were shouting obscenities while in the street.

Cited were Daniel Reed, 30, of 458 W. White St., Summit Hill, and a 16-year-old Lansford female. The charges against the female were filed with juvenile authorities.

Three juveniles face charges with juvenile officials as a result of an incident which occurred on Nov. 9.

Police received a report that three individuals beat-up a female juvenile.

Charges with simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct were a 15-year-old female from Summit Hill, a 15-year-old female from Lansford, and a 16-year-old female from Coaldale.
