Nativity display

St. John's Lutheran Church, South Ave., will hold a nativity display at the church on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13. from noon to 5 p.m. each day. Members of the church are invited to display their favorite nativities at the church.

Christmas traditions

On Sunday, Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. local historian Jack Gunsser, dressed in Victorian period attire, will entertain all with a presentation on some of the origins of our Christmas traditions.This program, sure to be delightful as well as informative, is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Dimmick Library annex house at 58 Broadway in downtown Jim Thorpe. Refreshments, including homemade Christmas cookies, will be served.

The event is sponsored by the Friends of the Dimmick Library. Call the library at (570) 325-2131 for information.
