Missing man found today in Tamaqua
Tamaqua police, fire fighters and ambulance personnel spent much of last night searching for a missing 71 year old who suffers from dementia.
The man walked away from his home in the South Ward section of the community some time before midnight.
Emergency personnel searched the community in the sub freezing 17 degree temperatures throughout the night. At 3:30 a.m. the victim was discovered wandering in the 200 block of Pine street suffering from hyperthermia and a head injury.
Apparently he fell sometime through his ordeal. He was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and transported to the Miners Memorial Hospital, Coaldale.
