Two arrested for damaging property

Two Monroe County residents were arrested for causing over $10,000 in damages to a property they had rented.

Pocono Mountain Regional police said Robert Lacast, 47, and Karen Lacast, 45, of Delaware Water Gap, were arrsted on a warrant this week.

According to police the two rented property from Elizabeth Gil, 37, of Drums, Luzerne County, in A Poconou County Place in Coolbaugh Township. Prior to July 18 they were evicted from the residence. When the Lacast's moved out they allegedly did $10,000 worth of damages to the property. Police said the two turned on the water and let it run within the residence and also stole items from it.

A criminal check revealed that Robert Lacast was on state parole in New Jersey and left the state without permission.

Robert Lacast is charged with criminal mischief, as a felony three, criminal conspiracy, supervisioin of person paroled in other states, theft and receiving stolen property. Karen Lacast is charged with criminal mischief, a felony three, and conspiracy.
