Letter to the Editor: The Woman in the Glass
Dear Editor:
This poem, authored by Peter Dale Wimbrow Sr. , has been modified from Its original content.
When you get what you want in your struggle for self
And the world makes you queen for a day
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself
And see what that woman has to say.
For it isn't your father, or mother, or husband
Whose judgment upon you must pass
The lady whose verdict counts most in your life
Is the one staring back from the glass.
She's the lady to please - never mind all the rest
For she's with you, clear to the end
And you've passed your most difficult, dangerous test
If the woman in the glass is your friend.
You may fool the whole world down the pathway of years
And get pats on the back as you pass
But your final reward will be heartache and tears
If you've cheated the woman in the glass.
As years went by she has passed the most divine and final test.
In her struggle for life she struggled to please not herself.
But her family, friends who she sincerely tried to please.
The woman who stared at her in the glass wouldn't dare to ask a trivial thing from her family or friends
She had managed day by to look at the woman in the glass
And Her divine satisfaction was just knowing that she was just truly your friend to the end.
Yes this incredible woman is our friend indeed. And We are truly Honored to have known and had the opportunity to share in this life of this truly magnificent woman Sharon Joseph who was always truly a friend indeed.
She will always be in our hearts.
