Nesquehoning man faces trial on DUI charges

A Nesquehoning man will face trial in Schuylkill County Court on charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following preliminary hearings held last week before District Judge Stephen Bayer, Tamaqua.

Thomas Michael Drum, 36, of 139 W. Catawissa St., Nesquehoning, waived his right to a preliminary hearing on DUI related charges. A charge of illegal parking was withdrawn by the arresting officer, Tamaqua Patrolman Thomas Rodgers. The charges stem from a June 20 incident.

He was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

Other defendants appearing before Judge Bayer included:

Matthew Coccio, 37, of 25 Market St., Tamaqua, waived a hearing on DUI charges filed by Patrolman Rodgers. The charges stem from a Sept. 27 incident.

He was released on his own recognizance.

Eric Arnold Hoffman, 44, of 365 Mush Dahl Rd., New Ringgold, waived a preliminary hearing on charges of speeding, careless driving, driving the wrong way, possession of a controlled substance, failure to stop for a red light, driving with a suspended license and driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

The charges stem from a Sept. 5 incident and were filed by West Penn Township Officer Danielle Mowery.

Hoffman was released on his own recognizance.
