Teen arrested in robbery incident
A Monroe County teen has been arrested for a home invasion robbery incident. Pocono Mountain Regional police said the incident occurred about 11:55 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1.
According to police a female returned to her home at 2897 Cedar Lane, Tobyhanna, and observed a vehicle in the driveway. She walked to the front door and could see a black male inside walking around.
She said she entered the front door and was confronted by the male who pointed a gun at her and demanded money. The female said the male was wearing a baseball cap and hooded sweat shirt. She stated the male wanted $1,500. She said she was ordered to place her small child in her room so the two of them could go to her car and get her wallet. The woman said the male then fled in a red Chevrolet Cavalier.
While en route to the home police observed a car matching the description given to them operated by a black male along SR196. A vehicle stop was made and the driver was identified as a 17-year-old from Tobyhanna. The female woman was brought to the scene and identified the teen as the one who had robbed her.
The teen was taken into custody to be charged with robbery and burglary and related counts. A search of the car was conducted and found under the drivers' seat was a BB gun.
