New York man jailed in Carbon

A New York state man was jailed in Carbon County following an incident in Kidder Township.

Township police said Nicholas Paul Francois, 20, of Middletown, was arrested for driving under the influence (DUI) and criminal mischief.

Police said Francois was found on the floor of the "This N That" consignment shop along SR940 about 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8.

He was arraigned before duty District Judge Edward Lewis, of Jim Thorpe, and committed to the prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Officers Brian Dalesandro and David Mason investigated the incident.
