PennDOT has speakers available to groups

Published November 25. 2009 05:00PM

Pennsylvanians can learn about PennDOT's many functions and services directly from local experts through the department's new speakers bureau.

"People see PennDOT working in their communities year round, but they still may not realize the scope of all of the services the department provides," said PennDOT Secretary Allen D. Biehler, P.E. "The speakers bureau is a great way to educate people about what we do and open a dialogue between us and our customers."

PennDOT employees are available to speak on a variety of topics, including local partnerships, mature driver safety, winter operations, careers in transportation and driver licensing issues.

Groups interested in scheduling a speaker should contact PennDOT's Central Press Office or one of its 11 district Community Relations Offices. For a list of topics and contact information, visit www.dot.state.pa.us and click on "More News and Media" or e-mail RA-penndotpressstate.pa.us for an electronic copy of the bureau listing.

While every effort will be made to meet requests, PennDOT cannot guarantee that speakers will be available for every request. Please submit requests at least a month in advance of the requested speaking date.
