Lehighton man taken into custody

Eugene Stalter Jr. of Lehighton was arrested on a bench warrant issued against him in Luzerne County after Nesquehoning police observed him on Monday.

Police said they were aware Stalter was wanted in Luzerne County for failure to appear for a probation revocation hearing from Hazleton City police for theft from a motor vehicle.

Chief Sean Smith took the man into custody after observing him entering Apartment No. 7 at 127 W. Catawissa St. Stalter was committed to the Carbon County Correctional Facility, Nesquehoning.
