Woman attempted to alter prescription

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks arrested a 23-year-old Stroudsburg woman for violating the state's Drug Device and Cosmetic Act, following an incident that happened at 1 p.m. Thursday. Police did not name the accused but said she received a prescription from a doctor and altered it in an attempt to obtain a controlled substance, having tried to get the altered prescription filled at the CVS Pharmacy, Rt. 209, Brodheadsville.
