Schuylkill driver facing DUI count

A Schuylkill County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence (DUI) after his vehicle crashed into two parked vehicles. State police at Frackville said the crash occurred about 1:39 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6, along Mount Olive Blvd., in the village of Lost Creek, West Mahanoy Township.

Troopers said Michael S. Zimmerman Sr., 29, of Ashland, was driving a 1998 Pontiac Grand Am when it left the roadway and crashed into a parked 1999 Saturn SL pushing it into a parked 2000 Dodge Caravan.

Troopers said Zimmerman showed signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. He was then taken for a breath test at the barracks which showed him over the legal limit of .08 percent. Charges will be filed, troopers said.
