Old Fashioned Christmas in Lehighton planned Friday
Whether you've been good or bad this year, Santa Claus is arriving in Lehighton on Friday during Lehighton's annual Old Fashioned Christmas Celebration. The event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the the bandshell in the upper park. The event will be held rain or shine.
The jolly old elf will be landing at 6:30 p.m. to greet the little ones and hand out candy canes to children 12 and under.
The event is sponsored by the Lehighton Area Council of the Carbon County Chamber of Commerce.
Paul Smith and the Lehighton Band will provide musical entertainment with all your favorite Christmas Carols while the Senior Girl Scouts, Troop 583, will provide the hot cocoa.
There will be a drawing for children to receive numerous presents given out by Santa himself. Included are a girl's and a boy's bicycle courtesy of Wal*Mart, a sled donated by Lehighton Hardware, recorders from Carbon County Music & More, books by Lehighton Library, plus other surprise gifts.
