A replica of the only underground service of its kind was conducted at the No. 9 Mine, Lansford. The program had been hosted by the No. 9 Mine of the Lanscoal Company, Lansford. Participating were a group of nuns from St. Michael's Cathold Church, Lansford, Twelve years ago, Sister M. Methodia and the Nuns of the church, dedicated a shrine to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the dark, cold, and silence of the mine. Every year since then,they return in the same gangway and hold a simple, but beautiful service.
