Three one-vehicle crashes in Ross Township were recently reported by Lehighton State Police.

The first accident happened along Meixell Valley Road at 7:32 a.m., Dec. 27.

According to police, a 1999 Ford Taurus, driven by Barbara L. Lehmann, 51, of Saylorsburg, was traveling east along Meixell Valley Road at approximately 25 mph.

As she proceeded around a right, downhill curve, she lost control of the vehicle on ice and proceeded to travel northeast. The Taurus traveled across the westbound lane, exited the roadway, and struck a ditch, located immediately north of the traffic lanes. After striking the ditch, the vehicle traveled south east, rotating clockwise, back across both lanes of travel. The rear of the Taurus struck a raised embankment, off the south edge of the roadway, before coming to rest facing northwest, with the rear of the vehicle on the embankment and the front wheels on the eastbound lane.

Lehmann sustained minor injuries during the crash.

A second accident, located along State Highway 115, occurred at 8:27 a.m. that same day

Police state that a 2004 Saturn Ion, driven by Arthur Saperstein, 68, of Saylorsburg, was traveling south on SR115 at approximately 25 mph. As the vehicle entered a right, uphill curve, Saperstein lost control. While rotating counter clockwise, the Ion traveled southeast across the northbound lane and off the east edge of the roadway. The right side of the vehicle then struck several small trees, located just off the edge of the roadway. The Ion came to rest immediately after, facing east.

Saperstein was not injured, but injuries to his passenger, Nancy A. Saperstein, 54, of Saylorsburg, were reported. She was taken by Wind Gap Ambulance to Pocono Medical Center for treatment.

Later that evening, a one-vehicle accident occurred along Pheasant Road in Ross Township.

According to state police at Lehighton, the crash occurred at 7:35 p.m., as a 2001 Ford Focus, driven by Amanda L. Miller, 17, of Saylorsburg, was traveling west along Pheasant Road.

As Miller attempted to exit a left-hand curve, her vehicle left the roadway and struck a bush on a property, located at 48 Pheasant Road. It then continued onto the property, where it struck a large rock and came to rest facing south against a large tree on the west side of the roadway.

Neither Miller or her passenger Katelyn Romeo, 18, of Saylorsburg, were injured in the crash.

The Focus was towed from the scene by Borger's Towing.
