Unattended vehicle stolen in Monroe

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks are investigating the theft of a 2004 Dodge Durango vehicle that was stolen Wednesday at 2:30 a.m. when its owner left the vehicle running while he entered a store.

The victim is David C. Couonterman, 37, of Effort.

Police said he left the unlocked vehicle in the parking area of the Effort Uni-Mart Store, Rt. 115 and State Road, Chestnuthill Township.

The vehicle has a registration plate of TRAXXAS, a "Semper Fi" plate on the front bumper and a U.S. Marine Corps sticker centered on the rear window.
