December 26, 1979 Cindy Miller scores a team-high 17 points and Tamaqua reaches the final of the PV-Tamaqua Officials Basketball Tournament with a convincing 66-43 victory over Jim Thorpe. Miller finishes eight-of-12 from the floor and tallies five points during an early 17-0 run that gives the Lady Raiders the lead for good. The winners, coached by Dennis Kormonick, also receive 12 points from Lisa Erbe and 10 each from Karen Deininger and Beth Delay.
