Argument leads to shootout
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks arrested two men who they said ended up shooting guns at each other after an argument escalated on Sunday at 4 p.m. in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said Kenneth Warren Reddick, 26, of Effort, was arraigned on charges of criminal attempted homicide, aggravated assault, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person.
Justin M. Campbell, 19, also of Effort, was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, terroristic threats and simple assault.
Police said the men became involved in an argument in the parking lot of the Uni-Mart, Effort, after which time Campbell brandished a pistol-style BB gun and fired several shots at Reddick. The latter then retaliated by pulling a 9-mm handgun and firing multiple shots at Campbell.
Police said Campbell fled the scene in an SUV and then drove past the store, firing several more shots from his BB gun.
Both men were eventually taken into custody, police said.
