Two homes burglarized in Penn Forest
State Police at Lehighton are investigating two burglaries that took place recently in Penn Forest Township.
The first burglary occurred sometime between Dec. 28 and Dec. 30, at 183 Indian Trail, Penn Forest Township, Jim Thorpe.
According to police, on Dec. 30, troopers responded to block six for a report of a burglary.
Upon arrival, the victim, Stephen Elwood Snyder of Jim Thorpe, reported that three firearms had been stolen from the aforementioned residence. The firearms included a Winchester .22 caliber semi automatic rifle, a Winchester 12 gauge single shot shotgun, and a Jimenez Arms .22 caliber handgun.
The second reported burglary, which occurred sometime between Oct. 15, and Dec. 30, took place at 13 Bowman Road.
According to police, the victim, Mary Jane Druker of Jim Thorpe stated that pieces of her jewelry were missing from her residence. Missing items include two 14 carat gold filigree style wedding bands containing eight large diamonds; one herringbone 14 carat gold bracelet; and one 14 carat gold charm bracelet containing six charms.
