Schuylkill burglary is investigated

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks are investigating a burglary that happened between 2 p.m. Dec. 24 and 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Cardinal Systems, 250 Rt. 61, North Manhrim Township.

Police said someone entered the production area of the firm and stole money from two vending machines inside the main lunchroom that are owned by the General Vending Co., Hazle Township, damaging the machines in the process.

The actor(s) then damaged interior doors and entered the administration area of the building, where several locked offices were entered by force and the door lock assembly and door frame were locked. Police said about $400 in petty cash was stolen from those areas.

The intruder(s) also attempted to access a cash drawer in another vending machine but was unsuccessful.

Police said about $80 in cash was stolen from the vending machines, which sustained about $2,000 in damages.
