Two duke it out along Route 22

Published January 01. 2010 05:00PM

State police at the Fogelsville barracks said two persons operating commercial vehicles in the area of Rt. 22 eastbound in South Whitehall Township on Sunday at about 3:19 p.m. stopped their vehicles and entered into a verbal argument that escalated to them punching each other.

The drivers were identified as Stanley A. Young II of Germansville and Lorenzo Smith of St. Louis, Mo.

Police said they parked their vehicles on the shoulder of Rt. 22 at the Route 309 interchange and exited the vehicles to engage in the argument and scuffle.

It is alleged Young pushed Smith with his open hands, after which time the latter struck Young in the face with an open hand.

Police said both patries then contacted police and reported the incident. No charges were filed.
