Graduates from West Virginia University
Kelsey Englert, of Palmerton, recently graduated from West Virginia University with a master of fine arts degree in creative writing. She also holds a master of arts degree in English, a bachelor of landscape architecture degree, and a bachelor of science degree in history from Ball State University.
Her short stories have appeared in the literary magazines The Citron Review, Bartleby Snopes and The Broken Plate. Her nonfiction was selected as the WVU M.F.A. representative for the national AWP Intro Awards for the 2015-2016 academic year.
In 2014, her screenplay won BSU's Cinema Entertainment Immersion competition and was produced into a short film.
Englert graduated as salutatorian from Palmerton Area High School in 2007. She currently teaches English courses at West Virginia University. In August she will begin teaching at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
