Play on the life of Christian songwriter

Revive Community Fellowship will present a production of "It is Well" at 6 p.m. Aug. 13, at the Tamaqua Community Art Center, 125 Pine St., Tamaqua. The play is based on the life of Phillip Bliss, who some consider to be the second most famous Christian songwriter in history.

Born in 1839 in Clearfield County, Bliss left home to work in logging camps when he was 11 years old. He attended school in between jobs, completing the requirements to become a teacher by the age of 17.

He went on to write words and music to some of the most beloved hymns of all time.
