McAdoo man arrested by drug task force

A McAdoo man was taken to the Schuylkill County prison in Pottsville after a drug bust by the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force.

Thomas Salata III, 42, was arrested after a controlled buy at 11:40 p.m. on July 20. The "deal" was made by text message for the purchase of $100 worth of methamphetamine. After the sale Salata was searched and found to have meth and OxyContin in his possession.

He was charged with possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of drug paraphernalia. Arraigned before duty District Judge Anthony Kilker, of Shenandoah, Salata was taken to prison after being unable to post the required $25,000 straight cash bond.

Members of the task force included officers from McAdoo, Kline Township and Rush Township police departments.
