Sad State of the NFL

Published September 29. 2017 11:27AM

Week three of the NFL season has just concluded and I’m already disgusted with it and have had enough.

Kneeling during the national anthem is not some sort of brave personal social injustice statement as a lot of folks in the news media would have us believe. To me, players who earn millions while bemoaning how unfair life has been for them is sad, ludicrous and impossible for me to empathize with.

No more NFL for me, I’ll take a knee.

So under your premise one's Constitutional rights are dictated by the amount of money one makes. Just asking, what is that amount where you lose your rights, a hundred grand, a million, how about 50 grand. This whole issue would have gone away except the loudmouth billionaire occupying the White House had to once again divide the nation. However one of your statements is dead wrong, the protesting players aren't doing so to bemoan or highlight their own treatment but to shed light on the plight of their fellow citizens, in other words standing or in this case kneeling not for themselves but for others, unlike the billionaire President who has never done anything without thinking of himself first. Just before our country was founded the colonists were beaten by British troops if they dared to speak out or rally against the King or his flag, if they had followed your sense of patriotism, our country would not exist, thank God for the original and present day protesters.
