Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. Sunday, Oct. 8 Rally Day and Harvest Home Worship with guest speaker pastor Marlin Lafferty at 10:45 a.m.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, preschool nursery available and Jr. Church provided for children in kindergarten through sixth grade. Evening worship, 7 p.m., fellowship hall, In Celebration of Five Centuries of Truth — devoted to an examination of the central truth of the Reformation: Justification by Faith. Community welcome.
Monday: Kids Club, 6-7:15 p.m. each Monday evening.
Tuesday: Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.
Wednesday: Revelation Bible study, 6 p.m.; prayer meeting, 7 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.
Friday: Wrapped in Prayer Ministry, 7 p.m.

Trinity Happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., begins at 9:30 a.m. The worship service includes a baptism. Music is provided by the Trinity Praise Band. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Richard Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
Sunday church school for student ages 3 through grade six begins at 10:45 a.m.
Lehighton CROP Walk at the Lehigh Canal Park, Weissport, is Sunday. Registration at 1 p.m., the walk starts at 2 p.m. The course is 1 to 4 miles. Contact coordinator Shirley Radler at Trinity Lutheran Church office at 610-377-4303 for pledge forms. Walk-in registrants are accepted. Money received benefits Trinity Food Pantry (25 percent), and Church World Services (75 percent) for relief and development programs. Checks should be made out to “CWS/CROP.” For more information, visit www.cropwalkonline.org. This is open to anyone including family, friends, co-workers and your dogs.
Youth groups are led by Vicar Rich Bergen. “Breaking Bread” youth group for students in grades 7-12 will gather from 5 to 7 p.m. this Sunday and Oct. 15 in the youth room. There will be supper, Bible study and information on upcoming activities. “Thunder and Lightning” youth group for students in grades four to six will gather from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 18 in the youth room, with a similar format.
For those who wish to arrange a baptismal date, the Rev. Moore will share information at 1 p.m. Oct. 15. For those who seek membership at Trinity, Moore will provide information at 1 p.m. Oct. 22. Contact the church office in advance to register.
A Reformation Dinner to celebrate its 500th anniversary will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 22 in Luther Hall. Please contact the church office to make a reservation for this free event. The dinner features German food. A program of viewing the film “Luther and the Reformation” and a discussion will follow.
