Trinity happenings
Sunday worship at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., with Holy Communion is at 9:30 a.m. Gluten-free communion wafers are available for those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Vicar Rich Bergen assists. Coffeehouse fellowship follows.
Sunday church school classes for students age 3 through sixth grade begin at 10:45 a.m.
“On the Trail of Martin Luther” is the theme for tonight’s photo video presentation at 7 p.m. in the conference room. Two women from the congregation will share their photos and memories of their Reformation-themed tour in Germany from earlier this year.
Youth Groups are led by Vicar Rich Bergen. “Breaking Bread” youth group for students in grades 7-12 will gather 5-7 p.m. Oct. 15 in the youth room. The will be supper, Bible study and information on upcoming activities. “Thunder and Lightning” youth group for students in grades 4-6 will gather 5-7 p.m. Oct. 18 in the Youth Room, with a similar format.
For those desiring to arrange a baptismal date, the Rev. Moore will share information at 1 p.m. Sunday. For those desiring to seek membership at Trinity, Moore will provide information at 1 p.m. Oct. 22. Please contact the church office in advance to register.
A Reformation Dinner to celebrate its 500th anniversary will be 5-7 p.m. Oct. 22 in Luther Hall. Please contact the church office to make a reservation for this free event. The dinner features German food. The program of viewing the film “Luther and the Reformation” and discussion will follow.
Bethany EC Church
Bethany EC Church, 222 North St. holds Sunday worship with the Rev. Jeff Stansbury, pastor.
Sunday school is at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages, including adult Bible study class, morning worship at 10:30 a.m. — please note the change in time for this Sunday only to accommodate parking for the Lehighton Octoberfest. Evening worship, 7 p.m., fellowship hall, In Celebration of Five Centuries of Truth.
Monday: Kids Club, 6-7:15 p.m. each Monday.
Tuesday: Ladies Bible study, 10 a.m. at Blocker’s residence.
Wednesday: Revelation Bible study, 6 p.m.; prayer meeting, 7 p.m.
Thursday: Men’s Bible study at McDonald’s, 5:15 a.m.; choir practice, 7 p.m.
