Tamaqua pep rally is Wednesday
Fans of the Tamaqua Blue Raider football team are hosting a community pep rally on Wednesday, at the South Ward Playground, in support of the team before the final regular season game of the season.
The Blue Raiders will take on the Marian Colts on Friday night at the Tamaqua Sports Complex at the top of Stadium Hill in Tamaqua.
The pep rally will begin at 5 p.m. at the playground. Free blue glow bracelets and red ribbons will be given to the first 400 fans.
The Tamaqua football and cheerleader programs, from the knee-high program to the varsity level, will be recognized.
Entertainment will be provided by Sounds Entertainment’s DJs Brad and Kathy Murphy. Live music will be provided by Dakota Sean and Jerome Betz. Guest speakers will include Tamaqua Area High School Principal Thomas McCabe and representatives from Safer Streets and Raiders Step-Up.
The event is free. Refreshments will be available.
