Schuylkill crash investigated

State police at Frackville reported investigating a two-vehicle crash around 3:50 p.m. on Monday along Route 61 in Butler Township, Schuylkill County.

Troopers said Christopher Monaghan, 37, of Gordon, was stopped in the northbound lane for a line of vehicles in front of him which were yielding to a school bus, when his 1996 Buick Regal was struck in the rear by a 2007 Nissan Altima driven by a 17-year-old girl from Ashland.

Monaghan and his 6-year-old son and the female driver were all not injured. The Nissan had to be towed from the scene. Damages were minor to the Buick.
