N. Lehigh to seek potential financial advisers for projects
Northern Lehigh School District plans to approach potential financial advisers on behalf of the district in anticipation of bonds needed for roofing and other projects.
The school board approved the matter on an 8-0 measure on Monday. Director Debra Bower was absent.
Sherri Molitoris, co-director of business affairs/human resources, said after the meeting that the board’s vote gives her permission to contact potential financial advisers of the district so that she can make recommendations to the board on the possibility of bond financing for roofing and other projects needed this upcoming spring/summer.
“The roof at the middle school, high school and field house are all in need of repairs, and the board is deciding whether it makes more sense to take the expected money needed to cover these projects out of the district’s current fund balance, or is it more advantageous to do a short term wrap around bond to cover the expected costs for repairs,” Molitoris said. “The board would like to review both scenarios prior to deciding how to approach these projects financially.”
