A total of five defendants in pending driving under the influence cases entered guilty pleas on Tuesday in Carbon County court.

Judge Steven R. Serfass accepted the pleas from the following:

Kevin K. Fisher, 54, of Parryville, pleaded to two counts of DUI in two separate cases.

He was arrested on the first count on July 17, 2015, along Bridge Street in Weissport by state police at Lehighton. The second arrest occurred on Aug. 28, 2016, along Pohopoco Drive in Towamensing Township, also by state police at Lehighton. In both cases a blood test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

Sentencing was deferred as Fisher needs a drug and alcohol evaluation.

He was arrested on the first count on Feb. 19, 2016, along Bridge Street in Weissport by state police at Lehighton. The second arrest occurred on Aug. 20, 2016, along Route 209 by Lehighton police. In both cases a test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

Sentencing was deferred because Begel needs a drug and alcohol evaluation and also so he can apply for placement in the Intermediate Punishment Program — house arrest.

Tamara Lynn West, 36, of Lehighton, was arrested on Aug. 31, 2016, along Bridge Street in Weissport by state police at Lehighton. A test revealed the presence of a controlled substance.

Sentencing was deferred as West needs a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Sentencing was deferred as Heckman needs a drug and alcohol evaluation.

Grant Lee Wolfe, 43, of Palmerton, was arrested on June 14 along Route 248 by Palmerton police. A test revealed a 0.21 BAC.

Sentencing was deferred so Wolfe can apply for placement in the IPP.

Michael C. Deacy, 30, of Jim Thorpe, was arrested on Aug. 20 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township by state police at Fern Ridge. A test revealed a 0.13 BAC.

He was sentenced to serve five days to six months in jail, a fine of $500, one-year license suspension, pay court costs of about $1,000, pay a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole and render 25 hours of community service.
