A look back: November 24, 1979
Marshall Schaeffer was elected president of the Carbon County Agricultural Association during a meeting held Tuesday night at the Lehighton Elks Club.
Other officers are Curtis Houser, vice president; Herman Rudelitsch, treasurer; Ned Harleman, secretary; and attorney William Bayer, solicitor.
Filling the six vacancies on the board were Ed Zickler, Nesquehoning; Clair Smith, Bowmanstown; and Rudelitsch, Harry Wert, Nevin Frey and Hunsicker, all of Lehighton.
An audit for the year ending Oct. 31, 1979, done by the auditing committee of George Bibighaus and Ralph Hunsicker, showed balanced receipts and expenditures of $127,657.15.
