Blaze guts home in Polk Township Friday
Firefighters from three separate companies were called to Robin Hood Lake Estates in Polk Township this afternoon for a single home fire.
According to Polk Fire Captain and first officer on the scene, Derrick Burger, the house on Greenwood Road, “is a total loss.”
“It was completely gone when we got there,” he said.
The Polk, West Penn, Penn Forest Company #2 departments and tanker truck from the Kunkletown company all reported to the afternoon blaze and were able to put the flames out.
“We had it knocked down with in an hour,” he said.
No injuries were reported from the dwelling fire and a state fire marshal will meet with the Polk Department investigate and determine the cause of the fire.
“This is just a rough time of year for something like this to happen,” said Burger.
